Q:

How to install GoTalkMobile on my cell-phone?

A:

The easiest way is to visit our wap-site http://wap.gotalkmobile.com from your cell-phone browser. There on the "Download" link you can find all present versions of GoTalkMobile with brief descriptions. Choose the one you need and download file. After that you will be automatically offered to install GoTalkMobile on your cell-phone.

Second way is to download it from web-site http://www.gotalkmobile.com. Follow the Download link, choose your cell-phone from the list and download file on your PC. After that you need to send this file to your cell-phone via data-cable, IR-port or Bluetooth. Then you can install the application.


Q:

How to register?
What are my login and password?

A:

At the present time we work with @gmail.com accounts. So you should use your login and password from Google Mail service. If you forget your login or password, please, apply for information to Google Mail.


Q:

How to create new account?

A:

You just need to register a new account on Google Mail.


Q:

What version of GoTalkMobile should I use on my palm/PocketPC?

A:

Classic version is recommended for these devices. To download it open the link in your device’s web browser:
http://www.gotalkmobile.com/wap/GoTalkMobile-classic.jar.


Q:

Can I use GoTalkMobile via Wi-Fi connection?

A:

Yes, you can, "Socket" mode is recommended for wi-fi connection. Choose it in menu "Options" -> "Network".


Q:

I have an error message “Symbian os error=-36 general system error...” What does it mean?

A:

This error text appears when your cell-phone isn’t able to get the access to the network. The reasons can be different:
1. You’ve got no money on your account.
2. Your GPRS/Internet service is not working properly – check up the settings please.
3. No connection.
4. The mobile operator’s station is overloaded with the voice channels and there are no resources for the GPRS channels.


Q:

I could connect normally before, but now it takes a long time.

A:

Please, use “Socket” mode in "Options" -> "Network".


Q:

I have an error message: "Pipe closed."

A:

The most probable reason of this error is incorrect GPRS settings. If GPRS works properly on your cell-phone and other applications (like Opera Mini, for example) also work, please, send to our Support text "Pipe closed", model of your cell-phone and whether GoTalkMobile worked well before.

If GoTalkMobile never connected before and you don't have other internet applications, please send us what is the model of your cell-phone, your city and your mobile operator, and we'll try to help you!


Q:

Minimization function doesn't works on my cell-phone.

A:

Unfortunately, not all the cell-phones support this function. It doesn't depend on GoTalkMobile.

Are you a department of Google?

A:

No, we are not affiliated with Google. But we like it and we find a real pleasure in making this software. :)


Q:

How to unblock friend in GoTalkMobile?

A:

To unblock friend you have to use GoogleTalk on PC.


Q:

How to set up mail checking?

A:

Currently in this version you are able to check only new mail in your GMAIL account if any exists for your current Google Account.


Q:

What are the differences between Premium and Classic versions?

A:

The only difference between them is graphic design.


Q:

Do I pay for anything when using GoTalkMobile?

A:

GoTalkMobile is totally free now. You only pay for wap-traffic when downloading the application and send messages.


Q:

How to switch between chat windows?

A:

To open List of Chats press '*'.

Q:

How to remove the recent chat from the chat list?

A:

To delete chat from the list press '#' and up or down to refresh Chat List. This will close the chosen chat.

Q:

How to download my own avatar?

A:

At the moment you can download avatars from PC only.

Q:

Why GoTalkMobile on Nokia doesn't play sound while receiving a message when minimized?

A:

Sounds aren't played on some Nokia phones. We are working on this issue now. The "message received" sound will be available in the next beta.
